I am very pleased to announce that I have added a Health and Safety Specialist to the team!
Steven Mitchell has more than 7 years of progressive safety and training experience and joins us from a recent position Challenger Motor Freight and previously Carter’s Oshkosh, where he was the Health and Safety Coordinator at each company.
Steven has been responsible for creating and managing safety management systems, writing policies and procedures, reducing workplace risk and injuries while maintaining company compliance and conducting training in various safety related topics and wellness programs.
Steven has contributed and has helped build various safety committees at both the Federal and Provincial levels. He has been an active member for several committees including Workplace Health and Safety, Joint Health and Safety, Policy Health and Safety, Social and Wellness Committees and as part of this experience, has been responsible for training committee members, identifying policy and procedure gaps, auditing companies’ safety management systems and conducting workplace safety inspections.
In addition to his professional experience, Steven has pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Contemporary Studies from Wilfrid Laurier University, a Diploma in Business Administration Marketing from Conestoga College and is a Certified Train-the-Trainer for Working at Heights, Safe Operation Lift Trucks and Forklifts, Aerial Work Platforms and Boom Lifts, Confined Spaces and WHIMIS.
Steven is a proven Health and Safety Specialist with an ability to analyze operating procedures, materials, machines, and conditions at worksites to determine risk, injury and occupational disease and damage to property and equipment. He is a passionate expert trainer with a natural ability to transfer knowledge. He has more than 15 years of operating experience and over 1,500+ workers successfully trained.
