WSIB’s Health & Safety Excellence Program Offers Funds for Compliance

Businesses that pay WSIB premiums have the opportunity to create safer workplaces for their employees and customers and be able to earn both financial and non-financial rewards.

The Health & Safety Excellence Program (HSEP) is designed to provide businesses with a clear road map to improve their health and safety policies and procedures. Companies fall into one of two categories based on their WSIB premium rates:

1 – Companies with low insurable earnings and a low number of past claims will qualify for a minimum $1,000 rebate per completed Health and Safety Topic or 2% of their premiums, whichever is greater, up to 75% of WSIB premiums.

2 – Companies with high claim costs and considerable insurable earnings qualify for a 1.4% rebate off their WSIB premiums up to a maximum of $50,000 per completed Health and Safety Topic or $250,000 per 12 months, for five topics completed.

The great part of this program is that it connects you with skilled people and resources that will help you develop a health and safety program suitable for your workplace.

Whether you are just getting started with your health and safety system or want to optimize safety systems and processes you already have in place, we can help you build your Health and Safety Management System.
